The Lamborghini Urus crossover was spotted at a gas station during testing. Some characteristics of the crossover, photos and main competitors of the novelty are known.

The Lamborghini company has announced more than once that it is preparing to present a new crossover. Recently, a new Lamborghini Urus was spotted at one of the gas stations in Europe, during tests. Despite the camouflage, the features of the novelty are clearly visible and what the production model of the crossover will be like.

The official presentation of the new Lamborghini Urus will take place on December 4, but earlier in 2012 the manufacturer presented the concept of this model. It looks like a five-door crossover with a coupe-like silhouette. Unlike the prototype, the door handles are conventional instead of touch. The side of the Lamborghini Urus also changed shape, becoming less muscular, following which the front optics and hood lines changed.

The last SUV from this manufacturer was the LM002. The new Lamborghini Urus will be the brand's first turbocharged crossover. According to the manufacturer, a V8 with a volume of 4 liters is installed under the hood of the Lamborghini Urus. To help, two turbines are installed, capable of squeezing out from 580 to 650 horses from the unit. As the manufacturer promises, a hybrid version of this model will be presented over time. Apparently, the hybrid installation will be borrowed from the Bentley Bentayga or Audi Q7 built on the modular MLB platform. The same platform will be modified for the new Lamborghini Urus.

The crossover will be the brand's first front-engine car in recent years. This was the case with the discontinued model LM002 in 1993. The second feature of this crossover is that it is the first model in 29 years with a V8 since the Lamborghini Jalpa in 1988. The new Lamborghini Urus will be produced in Italy (Sant'Agata Bolognese). Most of the components and assembly will be produced in Slovakia at the Volkswagen plant. It is at these factories that components for the Bentley Bentayga and Porsche Cayenne are produced.

According to preliminary forecasts of the company's representatives, the dynamic characteristics of the Lamborghini Urus crossover and the price will surpass the Mercedes-AMG and Porsche Cayenne. The company expects the Lamborghini Urus to increase sales, and the crossover will run more than 3,000 units per year.
