According to available information, the period will be from September 28, 2021 to October 9, 2021.
The peculiarity of the show in Detroit will be that it will be held both in the open air and in a closed format. According to the director of NAIAS, the period from June to October is an excellent time of the year to present new items to the public. In parallel, the Frankfurt Auto Show will take place in September 2021. Another reason why they decided to postpone the auto show in Detroit for the fall is the holding of the CES (modern electronics) exhibition during the winter period, which often presents new electric cars and autonomous driving technologies. Other representatives of large auto shows also came to this opinion, about the postponement of the date of the show, and therefore it was decided to postpone the date of several auto exhibitions.
Most of all financial losses due to the introduction of the COViD-19 quarantine suffered the motor show in Geneva. The exhibition was literally canceled just a few days before the start. Now, due to financial losses, the next exhibition in Geneva will not be held until 2022. Following Geneva, the car show was canceled in Paris and Frankfurt. Most of the privileges fell on the fate of the auto show in Paris, which takes place every two years. It was 2020 that became the period when the exhibition in Paris was not supposed to take place, giving way to the exhibition in Frankfurt.
Another exhibition that will still take place in 2020 is the Beijing Auto Show. The date was postponed several times. Initially, the show was supposed to take place in April, but now the official period has become from September 26 to October 5, 2020. It is reliably known that the exhibition in Los Angeles will be held in the spring of 2021. It remains to wait for the official statement of representatives of the auto show.
Also, one should not exclude the situation when many manufacturers will present a small number of their new products. Recently, the option of conducting an online show has become more popular, where there is no risk of violating the quarantine rules, and there is also no need to gather a huge audience, because everyone can watch the presentation online.
